Oh My God..... There Goes "Google" Again
Internet marketing strategy:
Damn.... just what is Google up to nowadays??
We are already frustrated by its ever-changing search algorithms. And now it is intent on creating more irritation amongst the Internet community.
So what is the fuss all about this time?
Well, the search engine giant has apparently posted an entry to its blog pleading with the general public to stop using the word “google” as a verb in order to protect its trademark.
Now, this is giving the word "extreme" a whole new meaning. Is Google getting desperate or what?
Yes, I know that Google has got a brand name to protect, but by telling us not to use the word "Google" as a verb is really going to the extreme.
Confused? Nevermind, its OK. What they mean is that you can only "Google" on the Google search engine. You cannot "Google" on any other search engines, let alone their closest competitors (you know who they are).
When I first came to know of this issue, I almost wanted to laugh out loud, but I managed to keep my emotions in check. But perhaps this is just another publicity stunt?
Whatever it is, if Google continues to pull off such stunts, then I have this to say: give me Yahoo or MSN. Anytime, man.
